Check the snow from bed. Then drive past the queue.

Ten private acres sixteen minutes from Coronet Peak. A homestead, a Scandinavian loft, and reserved parking at both mountains — so the day begins when you decide it does.

The rail trail starts at the end of the driveway.

Ten private acres of paddock, pond and poplars, ten minutes from Arrowtown. A homestead, a Scandinavian loft, and e-bikes brought to the door.

01 — On the mountain

Reserved parking at both fields

Coronet Peak and The Remarkables, every day, every car, with no “subject to availability” attached. On carpool-priority days, when cars carrying fewer than three people are turned back to the overflow, you drive straight to the base building.

02 — On the property

A property manager who lives here

Our property manager lives on the property in her own separate dwelling, out of sight of the house. Which is why the ski fitting happens here rather than in a rental queue, and why the e-bikes arrive at the door.

03 — In the booking

One building, or the whole place

Take the Homestead, take the Loft, or take all ten acres. Booked together, the sauna, the ice bath, the spa and the gym stop being shared and become yours alone.

The accommodation

Two buildings. Three ways to stay.

The homestead and the loft stand apart from one another on the same ten acres. Book either on its own, or take both and have the property to yourselves.

Slopehill Lodge

Sleeps 10 · 5 bedrooms · both buildings

Both buildings and all ten acres. Five bedrooms, a bathroom each in the homestead, and a separate front door for the second party. The sauna, the ice bath, the spa and the gym are yours alone — which booking a single building cannot give you. Built for two families, or three generations.

The Homestead

Sleeps 6 · 3 bedrooms, a bathroom each

This is our family home, and you can tell. It won a Southern Architecture Award in 2017 — single level, built around the view, with three bedrooms yours and a bathroom each — our daughters’ two rooms stay closed while you are here. A library that doubles as the movie room, and a fire in the courtyard.

The Loft

Sleeps 4 · king + 2 singles · own entrance

Its own front door, its own stair, and one long room under the rafters — sofa, dining table and kitchenette, pale oak underfoot, and the mountains sitting above the homestead roof through the dormer. A king bedroom off it, two singles that screen off from the lounge, and a bathroom and laundry of its own. The sauna, ice bath, spa and gym are open to you.

Recovery

Cold, hot, cold. It keeps no season.

An infrared sauna seating five, an ice bath on a chiller, an outdoor spa facing the water, and a gym with the paddock through the windows. Everything you would drive into town for, forty steps from the door.

This is the part of the property that works twelve months a year. A cyclist coming off the rail trail in February wants the ice bath every bit as much as a skier does in August — which is why April, May, October and November are quietly the best weeks here.

The land

Ten acres, two miniature ponies and a few rescue pigs.

Ducks on the pond by breakfast, and the poplars going copper through April. Look out from the courtyard and it is paddock, then pond, then mountains behind. Dogs are welcome, and there is a fenced run for them.

The property manager

Things get arranged.

Our property manager lives on the property in her own separate dwelling, out of sight of the house. Because she is here, a good deal of what usually eats the first morning of a holiday simply doesn’t. Boots are fitted at the house rather than in a rental queue. Bikes turn up at the door.

  • Ski and board fitting, at the house
  • E-bike delivery to the door
  • Reserved parking at both mountains
  • The house pre-stocked before you arrive
  • Dinner delivered, or a table booked
  • Starlink throughout, for the ones still working

Location

Ten minutes to Frankton. Twenty to town.

Dalefield is the farmland between Queenstown and Arrowtown, which is what buys the ten acres and the empty horizon. Frankton, ten minutes down the road, has the supermarket and the airport. Coronet Peak is sixteen, with a park waiting for you at the top.
